One small change in SE IV Gold is that fighters use supplies when in space even if they don't move. So I wondered what happens if they run out of supplies:

Nothing!

They still are able to move at full speed!!
I did not however test their combat performance when out of supplie but I think there should be a movement penalty as for ships if there are no supplies left.

"They still are able to move at full speed!!"

Close.. but not quite. Assuming this is the same as 1.49, they'll have full speed UNTIL they go into combat. Then they'll do the same thing as ships.

Really???? I thought that fighters were supposed to be destroyed if they ever ran out of supplies!

Ya gotta eat! (And breath, and not freeze to death, and, er, perfectly-natural-but-nevertheless-disgusting stuff.)

Can someone confirm the exact effects of un-rationed fighters?

Or is what you said Phoenix-D true?

Now it's getting weird.
I depleted a small fighter group to 0 supplies by moving them through the system at speed 12. When they reached 0 supplies I could still move them at this speed. I saved the game and tried to evaluate today the combat speed. When I opened the game now this same fighter group had only a speed of 1!
Did I loose my mind or can anybody confirm this strange behaviour (SE IV Gold, Version 1.60)???
