Loading saved maps

I don't seem to be able to do this. Opening up the Load Map directory in the Quadrant setting, and clicking on one of the pre-generated maps I saved, does nothing.

I can load these maps up in the editor though, and they seem fine and full of stuff.

I figured it out: you have to generate at least one map first before you can load your saved maps.

I don't think so. I know when I load my custom maps at the beginning of a new game it doesn't show the map in the preview screen, but the game will use the map and any starting points that I specify. So I guess that is good to know.
