Research from components?

It wasn't possible on the original se4, but is it possible in the gold Version? Has anyone tried it?

Nope, not yet. We're still requesting it. If we can have 4 things we can have decent 'nomad' races.

1) Population growth in components (habitats)
2) Resource storage in components.
3) Research points from components.
4) Intelligence points from components.

Oh, and 5) A 'seat of government' ability to let use use either a planet wth a facility or a base/ship with a component as our 'contact point' in the diplomatic system.

IMO, only #3 is really nessesary for a powerful nomadic race.
Using #5 would require #4, though.
