The Universe Ladder (http://www.seladder.net/) is a Space Empires III/IV based role-playing community. We are looking for new people to join up.

you need one of these retractable ladders, Fyron, I have one which I am happy to lend to you provided you pay the postage to north america - not sure even that is long enough for your purposes though - have you ever thought of scaffolding??

I looked at the site, and had trouble exactly figuring out what a player actually does there? I got the impression that whatever it is, it only "runs" one turn a month?

The purpose of the Ladder is a gathering place for role-players that want some basic guidelines for their empires. It is not simply one big game. The empire size and the monthly "turns" are abstract not directly related to the game itself. When a war breaks out, the players involved settle the conflict by playing SEIV (or SEIII for those few that for one reason or another are averse to upgrading).
