Ok...I can't seem to find this. Is it on the PC Gamer site or in the magazine?

Capt Kwok: The magazine. Nice review by William Trotter.

That's cool that it made it to print. I don't usually care much for game magazines though as I hate most of the games they seem to focus on.

Do they usually post the reviews on the website after?

In related news, the CD that comes with Computer Games magazine (issue 139, June 2K2) has the SEIV Gold demo on it...

PC Gamer dedicated a whole page to the review of SEIVG, and gave it a rating of 89%. 1% short of being an editor's choice, but thats life. Pretty major press, if you ask me. (he didnt mention drones, but did the other stuff)

I can post a scan of the article if requested. PC Gamer website is 1 month behind mag issue(I assume to entice people to Subscribe instead of getting it free).

Yes please post the article. Or at least hi-lights of it. Also, what month is it that PC game has the article in? April, May, or June. What page too? Thanks.

GREAT!!! That's how I started with SE3. It should bring in some more new blood.

Sorry, I've been off the board rebuilding my Win2k system. I'll get my scanner installed tomorrow and up a scan of the article (it's only 1 page).

Read the review. Looks good. A full page. Balanced, fair review. I think the author liked it even more than the rating it got, but those are geared more towards the typical gamer I think.

Still waiting for the first mention of PBW in one of these reviews. Ah well... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Not surprising. The editors usually tweak down the scores on non mainstream games, and I venture that this was brought down due to it being a Gold Version and that there is a LOT of competition for the awards this month.

Plus we don't advertise with them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

We had another game that got dropped barely below 90 because of the same issue a few years back.

Actually, from what the article said, they typically don't even review Gold Versions. But this one was good enough to deserve a review in their minds. And it said the Gold Version got a higher rating than the original SE4 IIRC.

Nope that's true also.

Dan Morris and Bill Trotter are two good men on their staff that I know fairly well. Bill has been fair to us for quite awhile and Dan helped us get BCT in the mag.

I take it that posting the article is no longer necessary.

They also said a couple of things that make you wonder.

"...you can assign competent AI "ministers" to control..." LOL

"...the very strong enemy AI..." LOL
