Quick question to the experienced.

I've done 15 searches on the topic and came up with zilch. At work, so I can't run the quick test.

Is it possible to cause a population to die...a shrinking population, without the use of plagues, intel, or facilities. Something permanent. I am not sure if you can reduce characteristics to negative numbers, and if so, will it actually work.

Why do I want a dying population? Well, that's a secret.

You population will not go down.
Even on Deadly worlds vs minimum stats, the growth is limited at zero.

I believe there was an attempt to make a Soylent Green facility before, but it either didn't load or didn't kill the people...

Refashioning the idea a little, my follow up question concerns captured population.

If my original population is set to zero growth, and I, say, capture a world full of a race with 20% growth rate per year....will the captured pop keep its original growth rate or take on mine. Seems like in games past it kept its original rate, but I'm not sure.

And many blessings for the answers.

When the people accept your rule, they take on all of your characteristics and skills.

So, they will have 0% as well.

The only thing that won't change is that they'll still breathe their original atmosphere.
