Just downloaded the Startrek Mod 2.0 and tried to set myself up as a Borg. Well, I couldn't edit the default Borg race because it was password protected! Does anybody know what the password is?
Why put in a password? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif
OK, I'm not really mad...but it's not nice to tease a Taz http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
P.S. that same Mod also is giving me error Messages about not finding things in settings.

Sorry about that. I thought I fixed all those. The password on that and any other empire in TrekMod that inadvertantly has a password is 'master'.
I made the .emp files by choosing them in quick start games, and any AI race in a quick start game has 'master' as the password. I thought I took all the passwords out, but must have missed that one.
You are getting settings errors? What do they say exactly? At what point in the game do you get them? Sorry again. This was a rush update. I didn't spend a lot of time on it obviously. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Geoschmo, thanks for the password...all is forgiven! (Taz's don't stay mad long...brain power defect?)
as for the error Messages, it happens on loadup of program and says:
AI settings errors
could not find field "ships don't move through minefields" in record settings
and about a dozen more. The program can continue loading however. maybe one or more AI's don't have some necessary file? Just a wild guess...I never fooled around with AI files.
Hey, I'm a corporal now! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Taz, You aren't by chance loading 2.0 over top of an exsisting preGold TrekMod Version are you? For 2.0 I took out all the AI_Settings.txt files and the main settings.txt file is the stock Gold one. It shouldn't be giving you those errors.
But it would if you are copying over an older TrekMod Version, as those still have the AI_settings.txt files, which is where that particular message comes from.
Delete the TrekMod folder and then unzip 2.0 right into your Space Empires IV Gold Folder.
I did realize just now in researching this that TrekMod 2.0 won't work with Gold Version 1.60, you need the 1.67 patch. But the errors I get there are different. Something about the components.txt file. If anyone needs it I can whip up a Version for 1.60.

could not find field "ships don't move through minefields" in record settings <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">According to DataFileHistory.txt, that was added in Version 1.53. It's not that a file is missing, it's missing entries within a file.
The second link in my sig has step-by-step instructions for fixing the problem files.

That's the answer on the error Messages. I DID overwrite the existing Mod folder! (should have remembered, I had problems with the original Mod)
Thanks for your help!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
