Just started a game and one of my local worlds I cannot colonize has ruins on it. Can I get to them without colonizing?

Can I get to them without colonizing? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No you can't. I did see posted somewhere you can drop a sattelite on an uncolonized planet to prevent anyone else from doing so. I have not tryed this.

The first chance you get trade with another player for their Collonization tech.
(So close yet so far away)

No trade in this game sooo it looks like it will stay far away.

Or, you could capture a colony ship from a race that has that technology, take it to one of your space yards and analyse it.

Or, just do the necessary research for the type of planet in question.

I was the guilty party that uses Satellites to 'reserve' planets. Works well against those dumb AI's and their unescorted colony ships!
