The images are remarkably consistent in theme while being different enough to be distinguished in use. It also looks much more 'organic' than any of the shipsets in the default SE package. I'm still a bit annoyed at the transport images. They look more like ants carrying salt-shakers than plants... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif but that's just part of the image set. I could replace them with something else if i really wanted to and still have the rest of the set.

I'm going to do an update on the graphics when I'm back in the Netherlands. I might replace the transports with something more apropriate, and use the idea for the transports for another fleet..

Anyone tried the AI yet? I'm unable to play SeIV here, and really curious on how they are doing. :-)

Well, when you get to revising please remember that there is now a 'primary' and 'secondary' image for each class now. So, you could add a dedicated baseship image and it would actually be used even if MM won't produce dedicated baseship images for the default sets.

hmm... is the AI is for 1.49 or gold only?

This AI is for SE4 Gold. I suppose it could be converted back to 1.49 by deleting the lines in settings, strategies, fleets, etc. to produce no errors in non-Gold, but I am pretty sure that the AI would not work well without the Gold Version. The AI (for example the fleet minister) is much better in SE4 Gold. The United Flora AI makes use of the features in Gold and has combined weapons tactics that do not work in pre-Gold SE4. I would recommend sticking to a 1.49 AI, rather than trying to convert this one back.

Yay! Nice one, way to go Rollo. Henk - can't wait for you to get back and work on the images.I don't think they need improvement (except the addition of neo-standard images=-), but if you think you can make them better I'd love to see it.

So has anyone started a game with the new UF-AI yet?
