Political upheaval has Devastated Juprup society. Now they need a great leader to lead them back from oblivion. Do you have what it takes to reclaim their role as a superpower in the quadrant?

Aw, man! And I was just about to make him an offer he couldn't refuse!
I've visited the Juprup systems, and I fail to see what is so bad about it.
They've got a great start, possibly the largest number of colonies of any race, a nice defendable territory, and I'm offering to be their best friend!

Now only if installing SE4 1.49 hadn't made SE Gold run like crap <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I've currently got 1.49, Gold 1.60, and Gold 1.67 installed, and haven't noticed any performance hit at all.
Have you tried the usual turn CD music on/off, etc.?

I didn't change a *thing* in SE4 Gold, and it's the one that's really jerky. Mouse movement jerky, delayed menu activation, missed clicks, the whole 9 yards.

I don't suppose SE4 uses any external DLLs that have changed between the two Versions...
Some common registry or other settings?

I'm not sure the reason, but my Gold install suffered performance hits after 1.49 install. Problem solved by reinstall of Gold. Hope that helps.

Summary of the empire.
Minimal size, but defendable territory, surrounded by friendlies, Allied with the author of the mod, cheap access to maintenance free ships and all racial techs (!).

Alas, the Juprup's Messiah proved to be false. Yet still they watch the starts, waiting for the day that their true Messiah shall descend from the heavens to lead them.

And as the Astronomer Jenkins gazed upon the heavens, he observed that the planet Jurqoines had aligned itself in the center of the 7 stars of the Juprian's crown. "Behold," he cried to his fellow astronomers, "the day of our great Leader's return has come at Last!"
