I am only going to list 6 of them, and if you vote for 6, please post what set it is. Thanks.

I use the Gttk shipset from Universal Shipyards designed by John Beech.

Depends: If I am playing a "regular" game, then a mix...mostly one of my own design.

But since i am testing the B5 mod.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Voted #6.

What I use alternates; I'm the sort who likes to have different races to play at different times, and I like to find a shipset that "fits" the race in question.

For gas-giant HW races, I like the Sonne and Vidrhinne (?sp) shipsets; both are beutiful IMO.

I most often use the Angelic Alliance or Gryphon Sector shipsets for more-standard empire types.

The SEOR fleet, to me, kind've "fits" a Temporal-tech race rather well (especially with the "Gray" style race portrait! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif ).

Other shipsets I've liked are the Son'a Command set, the Gtkk, the Praetorian, and the Paceans.

...

Well, that's an entire stable of them. If I had to pick, say, two Favorites (gas-giant empire and non-gas-giant empire), I'd have to pick the Vidrhinne and Regency sets, respectively.

In general, I suppose I like to use various different sets from time to time; the variation in look from empire to empire is a nice change IMO.

...

What I find truly nice is, the shipsets created by fans are, in general, superior to those thatc ome with the game. The fact that these are made for other fans to use freely is just great ... the SE4 community continues to impress me with it's generosity to each other, with each passing day.

I usually use the Neo-Canadian ship set for my own empire.

Not to take anything away from any of the other great sets, but the colors, shapes and proportions of these ship designs I found particularly attractive.

However, since I'm not an artist, what do I know?

I am surprised to see that no one is using the Star Wars shipsets, although I only put them in my games so I can destroy the Empire!!

I picked #6 - I use a variety of shipsets but mostly custom shipsets that other people make.

Several of the standard SE IV shipsets are excellent as far as I am concerned, and I've always used those. The Amon Krie, Cue Cappa, Jraenar, and Norak are all nicely detailed and yet also thematically consistent. The Abiddon and Phong are also pretty good. Some of the 'third party' shipsets are also very nice but I've not wanted to add to my burden of updating AI files until recently. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yeah, some of them are good. But it gets boring playing against the same races every time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif That's why I have 95 races installed for SEIV Gold, and 115 for SEIV 1.49. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

My god... I didn't know that there were that many races for SE IV! There were never that many for SE III as far as I know. That's quite surprising that there are so many people willing and able to make them. Erm, it's not one person who made 50 or something, is it? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I use a mix of standard, TDM-ModPack and a few others; the two I've played the most games with would be the Sharlon Kingdom and the Zedron Empire.

Hadrian Aventine and John Beech both create nicely textured, exotic ships.

My personal favorite is Hadrian's "Federal Union", a spinoff of the sleek, phalus-like ships of the 1950's. I have created a whole human sect around them called the "Pontine Lepers".

There are so many other good ships out there to be named. This is one of my attractions to SEIV. You never know who is playing what shipset. Most games I have played on PBW have new ships I have yet to install.

i have been using the stock ship set - Praetorian lately for PBW.

I hope one day they change there ship set listing to a alphabetical listing. It can be difficult to find ship sets sometimes

tesco: in the ship list, press the first letter of the set you want. Keep pressing it until you find the set- the list will go to each set with that letter first, then start over at the end.
