View Full Version : Can ship movement be speeded up?

In the beginning game everything is fine but by the time I get to mid-game watching all these ships move really slows down the action of the game.
I have waypoints set to bring in my ships from my far flung planets to where the action is but it's getting boring watching 30 some ships move one at a time every turn. First I watch this one move a few spaces, then I watch another one move a couple spaces, then this one, then this one, etc., etc.,
Have I missed a setting somewhere? Is there a way to have it so you don't have to watch everyone move (unless you bump into someone).

Thanks George

Under game options, UNselect 'animate ships in system window'. This will prevent the 'illustration' of movement in steps. Ships will just jump from one place to another.

Press <F2>.

Select "Options" from the list that pops up; it's about in the middle.

De-select (make it so there is no green dot) the entry "Animate ship movement in main window"

Select "close", which is way down in the lower right.

Resume play; ships move almost instantly, rather than slowly cruising along.
