... what? Sector? Is system the same as sector?

I ask because - for instance - Training facility says 'all ships in the sector ...' or only 1 Ultra-recycler/sector.

Each star and all it's coresponding planets, warp points, asteroids, and other miscellania is a system. A system can also be simple a large nebula, or a black hole. What ever fits in the large map on the left side refered to as the system map.

Each square on the system map grid is a sector.

System is the total 'sectors' in the system view. It contains all the stars, planets, storms, etc. A sector is the single square where a planet (and moons), fleet, ships, whatever.

IIRC a system is comprised of 169 sectors (a 13 X 13 grid).

...beat me to it....

Aha! And this newbie becomes less of an FNG as a consequence.

Thanks.

Hey! Thanks all. I thought sector and system were the same thing. Time for a strategy change.
