Allow me to introduce you to the Namovan Empire, destined (at least in their minds) to be the rulers of the galaxy.

This is a temporal race with an inclination towards conquest. Let me know what you think of them.

Nice! Totally different ships (VERY detailed mini's, esp like the Dreadnought and Large Fighter!). They kinda look like chickens though...space chickens that is http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
"Cluck, cluck, cluck. We shall be you *cluck* DOOM non-egg layer!" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
Lookin' forward to having them kick my butt!

I like scrambled eggs http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
Again very nice work Alpha Kodiak and I sure will include this race in my next game.

Why not use Dr. Robotnik's Death Egg as the Baseship portrait!

Well, I can see that I need to work over the speech files. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Here I thought they looked like a cross between a bug and a fish. Shows you how much I know.
Maybe I should come up with a poultry design name file! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
Of course, if we want Dr. Robotnik involved, I could use Slash as the race pic.

Slash? Not a character I recognize, is he from Sonic Underground?

Well, the controversy of what the Namovans look like is heating up. One of my daughters thinks it looks like a fish, not a chicken. My wife says it looks like Bucky O'hare without the ears. On the other hand, my younger daughter says it is not a chicken, not a fish, not even a rabbit without ears, it is an "ay-lee-en". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
Maybe I should put a poll up to see what people think. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Oh, well your son made a mistake because I watched that show when I was little and the robot chicken's name is Scratch. Ahh, I loved that show... Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog... You know there were also 2 other Sonic shows... just plain Sonic the Hedgehog (also known as SatAM Sonic because it was on on Saturday Mornings), and Sonic Underground...
And I vaguely remember Bucky O'Hare, too... wasn't he a white rabbit who was fighting all the evil turtles or frogs or something?

Oops, you are correct on Scratch. Bucky O'hare was a green rabbit that fought evil toads. (I repeat, I don't make this stuff up.) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I used to watch Bucky O'Hare. I think Lord Kodos was going to include him in a Mod some how...
zen.

Boy, it's one thing to have mechanoid killing machines overrun your empire, but for some reason having chickens from spaaaaaaace do the same just sounds embarrassing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Toadborg!

Well, to deviate back on topic briefly, has anyone tried out the Namovan AI? I'm curious if they are being well behaved (or better, if they are not being well behaved, but doing it in a logical and effective manner.)

"Toadborg"?

Toadborg was cyborg toad that was particulary malevolent. Some of the characters (including Toadborg) can be seen at this site:

Just out of curiosity, now that the Namovans have been out for a while, how have they been doing? I am specifically interested in how the Attack - Slasher class of ship is performing. It is an experiment in keeping the fleet populated with relatively low-cost, but hopefully effective, LC's into the late game. It's also my first experiment with an AI using the repulsor beam.
As usual, any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
