I have a standard Exploration ship based on a small transport hull:

bridge, etc
5 engines
1 supply
3 sat bays
3 cargo bays
1 cs missile

When I load up on Sats - it holds 8!

Let's see: 3 sat bays + 3 cargo = 6

Okay - I give up! Where do the extra 2 sats get stashed?

It loads according to the cargo storage capability. lvl 1 sat bay=80, lvl 1 cargo=150, total storage space=690kt, small satellite = 80kt x 8=640kt.

The problem you will find is that cargo bays cannot launch satellites, only transfer them via cargo transfer, but not into empty space.

bridge, etc
5 engines
2 supply
3 sat bays
2 cargo bays
1 cs missile

Assuming ofc that still meets the 50%-minimum for cargo issues (Supply Bays are listed as a cArgo Type component, why the hell don't they count? Large Transports filled with Supply Bays would make great fleet-resupply ships ... !!).

I didn't want the ship to hold just 6 - I just wanted to know where the extra 2 fit in and now I do.

Thnx. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
