... and that is: A 'Show Only Buildable' selection in the ship design window and the planet build queue.

Here's why:

As I play a game - I design new ships according to the tech advances. I then save these to my Empire. When I play a new game with the same empire, all ship designs show up in the Design Window - buildable or not.

True - some of them are grayed out in the planet build queue but not necessarily all. For example - I had two ship designs, one of which had upgraded engines. In a new game - depite my not having yet researched the new engine tech - both Versions showed as buildable in both queues (windows).

Having this feature (toggle?) would save a lot of screen clutter and scrolling.

If they are shown as "buildable", can you actually click on them and add to queue ?
It might be unknown bug !

How about an ability to 'Copy' enemy ship designs, to create your own Versions of their ships, assuming you have their tech levels or higher.

Say, if you had just managed to capture a ship with organic lightning rays, and wanted to add a religious talisman, or change the engines to quantum drives instead of ion.

You wouldn't be able to build the new ship, since you don't have the tech, and you couldn't repair any of the foreign racial tech, but you'd still be able to upgrade the parts that you do understand.
