I was just wondering if any of you might happen to know if and when another, or any, Babylon 5 DVD might be released?

I have the first one, the Gathering and In The Begginning.

Sometime in November the Season1 DVD boxset will be released.

And since ur a Bab5 fan why dont u create a computer generated(original, not from pics) shipset? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Most of the Babylon 5 ship sets that have already been made are pretty much perfect to begin with, so making new sets would not accomplish much. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Except maybe the Shadows, since their set has a lot of other race's ships in it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Byte, YOu said that the dvd seizoen1 will be out in November. Do you by change also have a site where you can buy this dvd or information about it.
Because I'm at this moment downloading seizoen 1-5 from kazaa and the the episodes aren't always that good.

OK, I just got some info from the Warner Bro's Babylon 5 forum.

The entire first season is scheduled to be released in a 6-disc boxed set this fall. October 14th in the UK, November 5th in the U.S. Not confirmed yet but Australian sites are reporting a tentative date of November 1st in region 4. The MSRP is $100 USD and most places seem to be selling it for around $80 USD or the equivalent. JMS has recorded commentary tracks for "Signs and Portents" and "Chyrsalis" an on-camera introduction to the series, and an on-camera interview for the set. Several other cast and crew members have also recorded new on-camera interviews, and there are expected to be a few more extras that haven't been announced yet. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">

From what I heard on the Boards and from Sci-Fi channel, Legends of the Rangers is not going to be produced right now, Sci-Fi has put their $ into Farscape and Stargate and didn't need another space show and the rating weren't good due to competition with some major football game that same night. They have reshowed it with some good Ratings, so it isn't totally out of the realm of what's possible, maybe if the DVD sales are good they will do something.

I'm actually working on fixing up the Shadow set to be more Shadow specific, unless someone else wants to do it - any takers http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Would be nice to get the shows on DVD for some captures for events and race pics.

Stargate is produced by Showtime. They signed a five year agreement. Oh wait... It has already been five years. ****.

I haven't been watching SG-1 too much, especially after I found out that due to whatever arrangement that Showtime did to get that series, the creators couldn't do a planned trilogy of films. They wanted to to 2 more films but couldn't. I'd have rather seen the movies than the series. I think the 2 other stories were written out as novels, but I haven't read them. Can't wait to get my hands on the B5 DVD set, even though I might have to scrounge up the dough for that set. What with Star Trek TNG and X-Files box sets out there, it's hard for a cash strapped sci-fi fan to get everything all at once.

There's got to be WAY more money in the movies than in TV. And didn't the X-files movie bump up TV viewership significantly?

The real money is in the fully posable action figures http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

The producers of Stargate did not want to make a second movie. The reports of a second and third movie are not true. The two producers of Stargate SG1 were from the new Out Limits show. They approached Showtime with the idea. Since the move franchise had no intention of making a second movie, and felt that a series would do more for the concept than a second movie, the go ahead was given.

I just watched a special on the making Stargate SG1.

WEll, that's not what I read. But it was a couple of years ago, so I might have forgotten something. But I am pretty sure that what I read said that they did want to do a trilogy. Maybe they changed their mind later. I still would have rather seen 2 more movies though. It would be a lot easier to watch the DVD's occassionally than trying to fight the wife over watching the Sci-Fi channel on Friday nights (I don't have the showtime package).

Also, I heard recently that Independence Day 2 is going to me made. I wish that would have been made this time than "8 legged freaks". I barely got through Arachnophia, I can't image watching 2 hours of 10+ feet tall spiders. That I'll wait until comes on cable.

From what I understand, at first they had planned to do a sequal, but when they were able to get it turned into a series they decided that was the better route. Aren't they planning to do another movie?

After watching Enterprise - _very_ well made, much better then DS9, Voyager or even TNG, IMHO - I thung that what Babylon5 needs is a prequel.

Just imagine - first contact with Centauri, who claim to be more civilized humans and try to enslave humanity. Then some hot babe uses the tip from Narn and provokes Centauri Ambassodar to reveal that he has, humm, six, huummm..
The following interstellar scandal frees Earth but almost imediately Dilgar invades. The brave Earth warriors save the Galaxy. The serial ends with Earth ship boldly go where no man has gone before - to the Minbari space...
