How many of you like to listen to MP3's while playing? I do and I have a nice assortment of songs that I have collected. (Most of them I have the original CD for, and if I like a song that I find, I often buy the CD as it is better to have it than not to.)

I have found a couple of songs recently that I really like.

Trik Turner "Friends and Family" (Used if for a bike video for the family. Good Song."

Dave Mathews Band "Long Black Veil"

I have many others, but these two are the two newest to my collection. It took me a while to find the Trik Turner CD, but Fred Meyer had it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Trik Turner is cool. I have a few of their songs on here. I'll be buying their cd sometime here in the near future.

But I do like to listen to MP3's while I'm playing SEIV. Actually guess what I'm doing now... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif I have a collection of around 300 MP3's which total about 20 hours of playing time. So I could stay on here all day and play SEIV and never listen to same song twice. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

I have WinAmp playing music in the background almost constantly... Right now my list has 478 songs totaling twenty-eight hours, five minutes, and thirty-one seconds. It's about to be expanded by my newest edition, the 2002 Warped Tour Compilation (50 songs, unknown length). Heh...

Sure, almost none of it ever really fits with SEIV... there are a few classical songs, but it's mostly Alternative Rock, Punk/Emo, and Metal. As for the number of them I have CDs for... I'm not sure on that one. Maybe half, but a some of them are recordings of live performances, so there isn't really a CD for them. I'm working on buying most of the CDs, but I don't expect I'll get to buying all of them... way too many bands.

I also have Winamp playing my mp3's in the background while I play SEIV, however my playlist is currently 2,548 songs and growing. 90% of those are from my extensive CD collection of classic rock, blues, and new country, with some new rock as well.

Hmm, I don't remember putting that site in my profile... oh well. Glad you find it at least a little interesting, even though it's purpose is more giving myself something semi-constructive to do, and getting stuff out of my system (the rants). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

247 CD's of MP3's and climbing...and 60 gigs on the harddrive waiting to be sorted.... Each cd is 700 Megs... Music is mostly alternative, punk, ska, rock, jazz, blues, ambient, tecno.

Kwok... Send me an email of what your looking for.... And perhaps I might be able to recommend some bands.

I`ve discovered that Emperor: Battle for Dune music is one of the best fitting i have heard, especially the Harkonnen soundtrack, unfortunately i did something wrong with data files and now the ingame music just repeats track 7 hehehehe.

PS: I got 3k mp3 on the HD and about 10 cds of mp3.

Gentlemen,

I play with internet radio running. Using www.live365.com, (http://www.live365.com,) I listen to all manner of music from 30's& 40's Big Band Jazz, to 80's pop, to Opera, to newer rock. I guess it only matters that I don't have to play in silence.

Cheers!
Trajan

ps., I also run the Lord of the Rings CD when playing hte game. It works VERY nicely.

I tend to put all sorts of bizarre tunes on the CD but I find the SEIV playlist kind of screws them up. How do I disablwe the music on the SEIVG game so that I can just listen to whatever I want to in any which way I want

I remember a post on telling the game which tracks to play. Hmmmmm...

Ah ha! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

From a post by Tesco....

in the settings.txt

you have

Num Intro Songs := 1
Intro Song 1 Track := 9
Num Background Songs := 8
Background Song 1 Track := 2
Background Song 2 Track := 3
Background Song 3 Track := 10
Background Song 4 Track := 11
Background Song 5 Track := 12
Background Song 6 Track := 13
Background Song 7 Track := 14
Background Song 8 Track := 16
Num Combat Songs := 6
Combat Song 1 Track := 4
Combat Song 2 Track := 5
Combat Song 3 Track := 6
Combat Song 4 Track := 7
Combat Song 5 Track := 8
Combat Song 6 Track := 15

you could make a cd with the music you want to play. and increase or decrease the number of songs

if you just want to listen then either just play music or something...

nice question.

You can disable CD music completely with the first setting in SETTINGS.TXT

Allow CD Music := FALSE

Thanks for everybody responding but I have worked out a better way... just move the stereo into the study and bLast the tunes out of that.

If you play the Cd on da' puter, you get all de silly beepy sounds from the game which frankly cramps the hurdy-gurdy solo in my afro-celt sound system CD quite heavily... and Jimi Hendrix does not sound good when you are having bleepy noises in the middle of voodoo chil'

Nahhh, Tesco, we is getting onto well subjective ground here (and I am completely bladdered thanks to a well aimed half brickj and 4 pints of stella tortoise)

everybody has their favourite and whilst Hendrix was the world's second best left handed guitar hero (after yours truly), he was still a poomtang dopehead...

Best album in the world? who knows, in honour of the canadians on this forum,I have just listened to my old copies of "Honeymoon Suite - Honeymoon Suite" and a 7 inchof "Loverboy - Lovin' every minute ofit" - I couldn't face Lee Aaron.
In honour of the HAND SHANDY SHUFFLE MERCHANT AMERICANS ON THIS POST, I played my all time favourite, Night Ranger's Greatest Hits
