Got a question....
I just ordered the game with the payment option of mail in check. I was wondering...I live in Quincy, Michigan. Does anyone know approximately how long it will take for my order to reach me?? Also, is there anyway that I can change my payment option from mail in check to mail in money order, or does it really matter, and I can just send in the money order?
Now, just one more question....
What is the manual like? is it in depth enough to let me know what the game is like? or is it just way skimpy, with nothing worth reading???
Thanks,
Hopefully, very soon I will be into this game....i will need to get the demo I guess to keep me occupied until i do get it...

Since I had played the demo a number of times, I was looking forward to seeing the manual myself when I bought it. To be honest, I don't think it covered a whole lot more than the game's tutorial. In the end, I just had to keep playing small games over and over, simply for "experimenting", so I could learn all the little nuances of the game, like what is a drone vs. fighter, how to use them, satellites vs mines vs. weapons platforms, etc. To be honest, I know there is still a lot for me to learn about the game, which is a good thing in many respects, because it keeps the game interesting and fresh, but on the other hand, can seriously hinder a game when you make invalid or wrong assumptions about things.
I'm actually kind of amazed at the overall disorganization of the SE4 fanbase - there don't seem to be a few web sites dedicated to being the focus of a lot of information - lots of strategy guides, mods, etc., exist, but they're scattered all over the place. A good example is the "dubious strategy guide", which has a ton of text in it and a lot of useful information, but it's a ***** to get through, and still leaves a lot of open questions.
So far, this forum seems to be the best one-stop shopping place to be found - at least to find pointers to just about any other mod, strategy, whatever site you might want to find.

AFAIK, there's no practical difference between cashing a check or a money order.

I suppose that it depends somewhat on when they actually SHIP your game. I also live in Michigan...up north in the woods...and it didn't take long to arrive. Less than a week...I can't remember the exact number of days. Might as well play the demo for a few days...it will give you a better intro than the manual (although the manual isn't entirely bad). Like they say tho...this is about the best place for specific questions. Unless you ask me...i'm always wrong... hee,hee...
ahem...

ckotchey ,
One of the nice things about this game is the players and forum members.
They would be glad to assist you in writing a Strategy Guide. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

You can email Richard and ask him. That is your best option for obtaining this information. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
But honestly, you chose one of the slowest methods of getting the game. I do so seriously feel for you friend. The long days of waiting, the whole weeks of waiting. And then it will arrive, on a day that you can not play it because of other obligations. The agony, oh the agony. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif
There is already several strategy guides availible. The Dubious guide, and the Strategy Site itself. Both have links in the "Must See SEIV Sites." thread at the top of this forum.
ADDITIONALLY The game comes with an HTML manual that goes into depth on just about every aspect of the game. You just have to go through it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

If you picked mail in check, then they will not ship you the game until they have recieved the check.
