Is there a way to get the game to add either of these two "planet" types when your starting a new game. Or do you have to mod a map to get them

Did you try adding them into SystemTypes.txt?

Not Yet. I wasn't sure if it could be done so I wanted to ask first.

I don't know if it works or not. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif It isn't too hard to check.

You can't specify planet sizes other than Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, and Huge in SystemTypes.txt. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Write Aaron and request! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

But a check on the planet sizes has ring and sphere worlds size as huge. Using that logic if I put a huge planet at ring one ( where the star is ) would that put a ring or sphere world or would it just generate a huge planet on top of the star. Or is the name of the planet used to generate. In that case it won't work. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

copy and paste duplicates of the RW and SW with this setting to FALSE and the game should add them in the map creation.
edit: and set the 'Special Ability ID :=' for your random RW/SW to zero, just to make sure

Thanks Rollo, I'll give that a try and see what happens.

You could always create a Map yourself using the Editor and when starting the game 'Load' that map.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I tried this out and got some weird results. First off there where ring and shere worlds scattered around rather frequently and not in the middle of the systems either. But strangest of all, I had a sphere world in my home system with type Gas Giant/None! I colonized it and set up a domed colony (my type was Gas Giant/Oxygen. There were 100 facility slots, implying that if I converted the atmosphere I would have 500 facility slots!

Not quite:
Name := Sphereworld
Physical Type := Planet
Stellar Size := Huge
Max Facilities := 200
Max Facilities Domed := 100
Sphereworlds only have half the facilites when they're domed.
