What's the Q-generator

What is a Q-generator?
Is there somewhere one might read about the different facilities and components and units? What they do and what requires to be researched for them?

I think what you're referring to is the Quantum Reactor, which generates infinite supplies for a ship, and requires you to research Resupply Level 5.

Other than the raw data in the .txt files in the Data folder, I'm not sure if anyone has tried to write more readable guidelines.

I think I recall someone had done up an Excel spreadsheet that covered everything in the standard game. But I don't remember where, or who, this was. Could just be my imagination.....
