Do any of you know why my computer upon start up wold tell me to "Primary Slave S.M.A.R.T. fialed. Back up and replace?"

What the hell does S.M.A.R.T. mean?

I don't know what S.M.A.R.T. is. What is hooked up as the primary slave? A hard drive? CD drive? other thing?

SMART, if I remember right, has something to do with your hard drive.

It's an advanced drive technology to detect failures in the drive before they 'bite' you and you lose everything. You'd better do what it is telling you to do. Backup your data! Something could 'blow up' at any time and you might lose everything on that drive.
