I was wondering, sparked by commentary on how innovative and great this community is, how many ppl actually own se4, gold or standard, guesses?

Well, I own two copies, so do I count twice? Of coarse, since I'm just one of Puke's multiple personalities, I don't really exist outside of his mind. So maybe I don't count at all.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

But how about this statistic ... how many registered members of the intel forums? That should be a little bit of a hint, although possibly skewed enough one way or the other so as to not be giving too much away.

I have both standard 1.49, and Gold.

I would venture that about 5,000 people own "original" copies of the game, and about 25,000 own pirated copies.

I think Richard posted about this a long time ago.

I have one copy of SEIV Gold that traveled a looong way to reach me (I live in Brazil)....
I believe i'm the third owner of this copy, the other two don't learned how to play it (maybe because they don't speak english...) and sold it to others...

can you really complain against the 25000... You know you go download the game try it out... Move on.. It is not like they were buying it anyways. Who has not done that here with some thing some where some time ?? I am sure there are a few people who actually decided to buy from that route.

On the buying gold note: drones really arn't the only reason, lots of interface improvements with build quesues and other such things, also, drones can be fun (and when i finally finish my improved dronewars scenario (more complexity than the one included on CD which i had nothign to do wiht)) then there will some fun things to do with them too.
