How would i get the AI to use those robo-miner components?
I think i know how to get them to build it, but will the AI be smart enough to place them over asteroids or planets?
I will probably test this when i get the time, but that won't be till next week, so if anyone can give me a quick answer?

Last time I heard this question come up, I think the answer was that the AI won't use them even if you can get them to build them.
Someone else?

I keep up with most of the threads on this forum, although some stuff slips by me. I have heard several people complaining that AI do not use remote miners, even if you make them build them. I have never heard anybody report any success at getting it to work.
There is no default ship type for Remote miner, or strategy for mining you can set. The only thing I could suggest is create add some designs for ships with remote mining components with different desigh types, attack ship, defense ship, etc. and see if the AI uses any of them properly.

Maybe if you told it to build a mining base, it would build them at planetary spaceyards and the base would remote mine planets in the sector that aren't colonized. It's not much dumber thanthe current deafult AI design of a starbase spaceyard with tons of shields.

So to keep it fair, it would be best to not use remote mining yourself? how would one do that?
