How does the new emmisive armor work on units?

I expect that it either:

A) Subtracts the emmsive rating until the entire unit is destroyed.

or

B) Doesn't do anything special.

but it's always possible that

C) It works screwy like most things dealing w/ units.

Good question. I don't know the answer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .

Following test situation in the combat simulator Version 1.78:
One single fighter with 1 small emissive armor (that should reflect 3 points of damage) and a total damage resistance of 36 kT attacked by another fighter with small DUC I (5kT damage per shot). Hit probability 99%, no shields involved.
Result: it takes 8 shots to destroy the fighter.
Conclusion: emissive armor ability seems not to work on fighters.

A similar test with a satellite as target showed again no emissive effect.

IIRC, however, for units, emissive armor provides more kt of defence per kt space taken than armor III. So, its still a good choice.
