What is the purpose of that icon, associated with a ship ?

Another icon looks like a red metalic tower, and is associated with some colonnies. what is its meaning ?

thanks for your answers.

The icon you showed means the ship is low on supplies. Once it runs out of supplies it can only move 1 per turn until you move it to a resupply depot or space yard.

I don't know the second one, I have often wondered what that is.

thanks for your answers.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Answer to first question: your ship is low to supplies. Direct it to the nearest planet with supply depot or it will be strangled in space. It will happen when barrel turns to red.

Second question: red metalic tower around your colony indicates that there is no space port in that system. You must build one before any minerals, radioactives, etc. will be added to yor empire from that system. Alternative solution: choose "natural merchants" as racial trait and there'll be no "red towers" around your colonies.

Lack of a spaceport will also prevent you from getting any research or intelligence points from that system.

I have wondered what that red tower meant myself.

Perhaps it's a intelligence test http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ?
Now I'm aware, thank you all.

The same red icon for "no spaceport" is used on a ship that's completely out of supplies. [ Edit ] Which I didn't notice that oleg had already mentioned. Oh well.

The "no spaceport" icon looks, to me, like a red skeleton of the spaceport picture, like the game is trying to say "Umm. Did you forget to fill a space?"

They are different, but capnq's poor eyesight can't tell the difference http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Check the HTML manual unde "Status Icons" for a description of all icons

I think there needs to be a key for all of the icons. I'd also like to see a "repeat build" icon that shows up on the planet/ship list.
