View Full Version : PBW Up and Running!!!

All:
I'm happy to announce that PBW is back up and running finally. Thanks very much for your patience.
Please do try to let the server breathe the next couple of days, just in case. Try to refrain from adding large numbers of new games, mainly. I think that'll be mostly taken care of by people who don't check these Boards figuring we won't be back up until Monday at the earliest http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Also, if you encounter any residual bugs, please let us know about it/them.
Finally, the game that was causing the trouble has been removed from the system. That game's filename was LastMan--I assume it was the "Last Man Standing" game that was being played. If that game's owner or players could contact us, we'll see what we can do about getting it set up and non-buggy.
I think that's it. Happy playing, and thanks for sticking with PBW!

Oh yeah: The server will be on ALPU only for a few days, so no one should end up missing turns.

I bet you the problem is squirrels. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So the problem didn't end up being squirrels!
I think some people owe the squirrel community an apology, don't you?
Mind you, Australia doesn't have squirrels, we have possums, which are about twice as big as squirrels http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Thanks for the Great effort you PBW Guys put in.

I am the one that should appologize. As to the game iteself, I looked at it and you have several players that havn'et uploaded the current turn, so I feel a little uncomfortable forcing the turn. However, I plan to turn the autoprocessing back on tomorrow evening barring any further complications. I just want to make sure everyone knows it's back up and all and has a chance to get their turns in. So if nothing happens before then from the game owner then you should get a new turn then.

For those who may not know, Calgary and Edmonton are about equal sized cities in Alberta and there is perpetual competition between us with such things as NHL hockey (Flames & Oilers) and Canadian Football (Stampeders & Eskimoes), just to name a couple. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
For most of us it is just friendly competition and we like to make a joke of it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

I just had a thought, suppose when this topic was posted, the PBW went down again. I can see about 15 heads exploding!
Thankfully, it hasn't happened.

I gotta admit that American Squirrels are tougher than the Engish variety. I was over there are couldn't find 1 English Red Squirrel, they and all been kicked out of there homes by American Brown Squirrels.
Not that this has anything to do with the Topic http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

It much darker in color than the "Grey" squirrel and is so cautious that it will not approach a person for food.
The presumption is that it's "cautiousness" is a survival trait.

Are you saying your squirrels are tougher than our squirrels? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Our squirrels are so tough that when they finally die (of old age after a couple of centuries) the city gathers them up and uses the carcasses to fill potholes. The problem is, as the road wears down, the squirrels don't and you get pot lumps.
