View Full Version : ALLIANCES, what are the benefits.

The SE4 Gold manual is not very clear on the effects of the treaties. Here is what I understand them to be:

1) TRADE ALLIANCE: Receives 20% (eventually) of the trade partner's production of minerals, organics and radioactives.

2) TRADE AND RESEARCH ALLIANCE: Benefits of the trade alliance plus 20% (eventually) of the trade partner's research points.

3) MILITARY ALLIANCE: Benefits of the trade and research alliance plus the right to resupply at your partner's (and his allies) resupply depots

4) PARTNERSHIP: The manual is very unclear here...so I will be making some major assumptions.
a) Benefits of the military alliance.
b) Recieve 20% (eventually) of the trading partners production of intelligence points.
c) Share military information that your partner sees. ==> what does this mean?
d) Recieve copies of enemy designs
e) Can observe the systems which your partner sees.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

IMO that's what it is, remember, you arn't recieveing resources, just getting a % bonus from them, everyone's a winner!

Ya. That's all correct. "Military information" just means you can see all the systems your partner can, and see all the designs he knows about (as well as any of your partner's designs that enter combat while you are partners). System maps and designs have a one-turn delay before first appearing.

Thanx PvK

One more question.

At what level do other players know of your affairs? And what do they know?

For example, I assume that if I have a partnership with "A" then "A" would know of my treaties with "B" and "C"

If you have non-agression or above, you can see what treaties your ally has with any other empire.

I still think a change in this area needs to be made. Change it so that if B & C know each other but haven't got a treaty, then it looks different then if C & D don't know each other.

Pressing Empires/Treaty Grid, I can view my own treaties with other players.

Where do I find the treaties my ally has with other players? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

In the same grid. They are lined up by empire order. Once you have a NA with an empire, you can see the entire row (or column, depending on how it's organized) of their treaties.

I have a bunch of TR's which is a higher form of alliance (if you can call it that) than NA.

All I can see are treaties with me.

But Phoenix-D says:
If you have non-agression or above, you can see what treaties your ally has with any other empire.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Clicking all over the place does not give me a view of the treaties my ally may have with others.

So, how do I do I find the treaties an ally of mine may have with others? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

Oops...I see now! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

But it only shows the treaties of the ally I have with other allies of mine.

Not as Phoenix-D implies in

To find out a non-allies treaties, you need the Embassy Taps intel op (Applied Intelligence 2).

This will only tell you one treaty per op, though.
