Hey If I D/L a Race and I want to add it to another mod do I add it into the mods race file or SE4G race file? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

Add it to the mod's Pictures/Races folder, if it has one.
Otherwise, adding it to Se4's folder will do.
If the mod has a separate races folder, the mod may not work right with the normal AIs.
P&N, for example, needs AIs that understand Quasi-newtonian propulsion, and that will always choose the "normal" racial trait.

As S.J. wrote, put that race into the "your favorite mod"/pictures/races directory. You might neeed some tweaks been done to AI files. The best way is to choose the most meanicing AI from the mod you are playing and copy its files into your new race. Some care must be obviously be taken with AI_general.txt file !

Actually I'm glad he did.
I currently have a Race directory here:
F:\Space Empires IV Gold\TDM-ModPack\Pictures\Races
and here:
F:\Space Empires IV Gold\Pictures\Races
Do I need both?

Gryphin: Some of the races in TDM use formations that are not in the default files, so you'll get errors if you use them in the normal game without either adding the new formations or changing those races to use default formations (in Racename_AI_Fleets.txt).

Imperator Fyron thanks,
When I am starting a new game with TDM
and I choose to have
Random Neutrals
What folder does it pull from?
What changes do I need to make to neutrals to make them TDM compatible?

"What folder does it pull from?"
The neutrals would be found in the TDM\AI folder, I believe.
If that folder were removed, the neutrals would be pulled from \AI

I am pretty proud of the combination of that and my high post count.

In the unmodded game, the neutral shipset is in \Pictures\RaceGeneric , and their race portraits and some AI files are in \Pictures\RaceNeutral . The rest of their AI files are in \Ai .

how about adding 2 mods together as 1 like TDM and PvK's <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Depends on which mods you're trying to combine; if they don't change the same Data files, it's fairly trivial, but if they both mod the same file, you're facing a lot of cut & paste editing.
