I want to start a new Proportions game with my friend. The major bug in Proportions 2.4 is the upgrate routine for mineral miners/radioactive extractors. Namely the fact that mineral/radio complexes I get upgrated to infeior mineral/radioactive miners II. Before we start a game I want to know how PvK will resolve this problem so we can used modified filea compatible with next Version of Proportions.
(well, this post looks like a personal mail to PvK but I thought some other people might be interested as well)

Ok, I'm working on this... I think I'll have details for you by some time tomorrow.

Sorry this took me a while to resolve, oleg.
I tried to keep my Roman numerals, by rearranging the order of the facilities and making the old ones inaccessible. Unfortunately, this only works for upgrades from level I and II facilities - level III facilities would not upgrade to larger level III facilities, because SE4 would see no higher Roman numeral, and therefore not offer any upgrade.
SO, I trashed all that, and made a simpler change, although it may be a little more confusing for the user, specifically:
I just changed the Roman numeral values. I didn't even change the names. So, for example, Mineral Miner Complex I now has Roman numeral IV, and Research Megacomplex III has Roman numeral IX, etc.
I think I will release a new Version tomorrow, which will be backwards-compatible with 2.x, and will have several new items and fixes in it, including this.

Hmm, actually, I just changed my mind. The names will change too. Otherwise, it's too confusing.
* Solved problem with SE4 not offering upgrades to Complexes and Megacomplexes.
This required re-assigning Roman numerals to them, so now Complexes are
IV through VI, and Megacomplexes are VII through IX.

The engines are named I-III and use higher roman numerals and work just fine. IE, Jacketed-Photon Engine I with roman numeral IV.

Yes, it works. I just wanted to avoid confusing players, if I could.
