1st, I use the mod picker every time I launch SE4.

2nd, the SE4 Modder is a tool no modder can be without.

3rd, Master Belisarius's SE4BATCH is a must for AI testing.

Personally, I use Wordpad for almost everything.

For large, repetitive jobs, I write a quick VB program, such as my AI Patcher, or pop modifier generator.

Thanks for putting my program number one on your list, but I have to say that the PBW server is by far the most useful SE4 "utility" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I prefer TextPad - smaller and quicker than the M$ product.

SE Modder and Viewer are my next most useful.

PSP and Lightwave are the next.

Well, I actually haven't uses PBW all that much. In fact I forgot about it. Yes; I think it's an important and useful utility.

I use a simple text editor for detailed stuff, but I find the SE4 modder faster for general use since I can't write my own programs.

I think the best utility is the PBW Client application. It's great that I can just start it, see that my turn is due, click on my game, and it starts up. When I submit the turn - boom, it's automatically uploaded.

The tool has a lot of room for improvement, but fills a very important gap in the download-play-upload proces.

Hey SJ, have you ever considered posting your pop modifier generator? I imagine it would help out a lot of modders (me included http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ).

It really isn't post-worthy: the function it generates is hardcoded, so you'd have to have Visual Basic to make any use of it.
It is much easier to just edit the code each time, rather than bother integrating a text interpreter.

If anybody wants a custom function, just say, and I'll send you the results.

I wish there was a dedicated "find and replace" program with advanced functions other than simple finding and replacing.

Have you tried Notetab Lite? It's a great little program and is free.

You can get it HERE. (http://www.notetab.com/)

Notetab Lite is excellent. I use that for all my modding.
