i read one a while back (think it was linked off slash) that the military was developing a hand held, two way, voice recognizing, speaking translator that worked in most major Languages.

the killer part? they were developing it to replace their EXISTING one way Version of the same thing.

And is this going to be letters or words that the computer is going to pronounce?
