So yea, i've been playing a game lately and suddenly realized i cannot put that kickass Crystalline armor on my new medium fighters. In fact i cant put any because i haven't researched standard armor. Whats the deal people? I see no reason to be unable to put 3kT Version of the same crystalline armor. it wouldnt matter for the shield regen, but still it would allow me to not research chemistry->armor when i dont want to. Same goes with organics. And i see no reason that if i can put normal and emmisive armors on units i cant put racial armors on them too.

EDIT: cant spell * 2

2nd that. I like how this is solved in DevnulGold Mod.

I take it this is a text file issue and not a hardcode issue? If it's hard code then mail it to MM. If it's text files then just mod it out.

I guess because fighters deal with armour and shielding differently to ships, MM decided it would cause too much hassle to allow those special armour types on fighters.

Dogscoff, they could just be normal armors with the same name, and similar cost ratios. They wouldn't have to have the crystalline armor or regeneration abilities. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

yea, thats what i said - make them have similar ratios like armor-small armor so i could use my racial technologies whereever i want.

DogScoff: I like to play stock SE technology and adapt myself to it, but there are changes i think are worthly to be made to the stock so i say them here.
