Can DUC's target mines? I ran a simulation and the computer player used DUC's to blow away mines that I had dropped (tactical combat). Is this possible? The description of DUC's says they can target ships/planets/fighters/sats. I don't see mines in there anywhere.

you cant shoot down mines, or atleast i don't think so the only way to get rid of mines is with a mine sweeper. in tactical combat, just go around mine.

If mines are deployed during tactical combat they can be targetted by any weapon that can hit a sattelite. This is the only occasion where mines can be hit with refular weapons. It only occurs in tactical combat, and as soon as the combat ends any surviving mines become invisible as normal.

so if combat is initiated again those mines that you could shoot at the first time around will have disappeared? If you're in the sector you should be able to shoot them, i mean they have grav. sigs.

Yeah, but you still need level six grav sensors to pick up those grav sigs.

Too bad ships can't launch mines or sats in Simulatneous games. Maybe pay more for the lauch bay. I'm guessing it would require too much hard code change.

All below is true but...
I think you can shoot at mines with direct fire weapons outside of combat - But only at your own mines!
by selecting the minefield and then the recycle icon and choosing "fire upon"

true, but you can also just give them the self-destruct order.
