AutoFire weapons

Hello there people. I was thinking - is it possible to make other weapons to fire PDC-style but on ships? Meaning whenever [target] comes into range the weapon(s) will auto fire.
Possible?

Taera - try setting the target type to ships - I think that might work.

I've never tried it but I think I read somewhere in this form that is was not possible.

It won't work, the routine will only check for units,not for incoming ships.

Taera, do you mean to fire PDC against ships or to have other weapons fire automaticly.
Cause my weapons fire automaticly if i put the combat on auto when it's happening.

i wanted to create some Energy Reflection armor which would fire in PD mode on every incoming ship. Oh well, guess not possible. A pity.

As stated, there are numerous threads about this topic. Try searching on "opportunity fire" - you may have better luck. IIRC most of the better threads used that phrase...
