This is an incredibly rich universe - it would be cool if someone would create the different houses, the church, the merchant league and the aliens. Anyone with modding experience familiar with this universe?

It is amazing how often EOFS is still mentioned after all these years... and the AI was so terrible, but it was such a great game design.

What a gem that was, if it was ever developed further.

I agree - the game was incredible in potential but the AI was non-existant.

I don't understand why game developers don't just remake the great games with new graphics, AI etc.

Xcom, Master of Magic, EOFS etc. I don't need new, or different, just solid. Maybe I need to stop being a pastor with a taste for gaming and learn programming http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

What a gem that was, if it was ever developed further. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Empire of the Fading Suns {link} (http://www.holistic-design.com/) was a tabletop RPG before it was licensed for the Emperor of the Fading Suns computer game; supplements for the non-computer Version are still being produced.

At some point some modding tools were made available for EOFS, and a couple of major mods were made. One was rather nice in that it made changes to the units so they all were useful, and made scepters immoble to eliminate the smash&grab in the early game.

If I remember where I found them, I'll post the web address.

Thanks for the links, everybody! I D/L all the images. Even the expansion sets. They are very interesting looking. The models are not painted. So could someone tell the basic colors? I will post an image once I finish it. To see what you all think of it!

If you look at the expansion set links on the noble armada site, it has a couple of painted ships with the color scemes for each of the houses.

Atraikius, Thanks!

There are images of Decados-green/gray, Hawkwood-blue/silver, Hazat-red/grey, Li Halan-purple/off white and al-Malik-pink/green. 5 Houses total. Are there any houses I missed? Secondly, they show 2 or 3 ships for each house. Are there any other ships?

Those were the only houses, there would also be the Church, League, and Imerial fleet, but I didn't see anything for them. As far as I know, there are only the three ship sizes, plus an assault lander in mini's; just use those as a basic design, and modify them for the other sizes keeping with the same style.

Atraikius, OK. I am working on and should finish the first ship later today. A Hawkwood Cruiser. I will e-mail it to you when I finish. To see what you think, before I continue.

The great mods were Nova and , I think , Hyperion. I loved that game.

Lost my links about two years ago when my hd blew up.

I think i'll go search the web.

Last I looked the Hyperion site was shut down but the Nova site was still kicking. They had a bunch of info and prolly the tools mentioned here. I also think they were holding a DL of the hyperion stuff too. They also, the Nova site, had an interesting forum.

If I locate the link I'll post it here.

The Hyperion stuff I can find by the author, Matt C. You should be able to get his Mod here or at least contact him.

Tenryu, I did check out the links. I also D/L a Units reference chart. It is very detailed. But just stats. I could put just a list of the Unit Names together. Then post that! Let me know.

Then everyone could deside what the Units should look like. Or atleast what they would like the Units to look like!
