Are you there? Need you to get signed up for round 3 or get bumped. I have no word form you if an absence. You played all your round two turns right up to the end. You have twelve more hours and then the game is going on without you.

Tbontob has been moving this weekend, getting his stuff out from the old place.
But he has managed to get in his turn in Newbie Galactic Combat monday (after a Holiday hiatus).

Well, according to the rules players need to notify me if they are going to have extended absences so I can make arangments. I am very flexible with people that let me know they are going to be gone and for how long. I am an intolerable grouch and completely inflexible for those that do not notify me. When someone goes missing if they don't tell me why I have no way of knowing when or even if they are coming back. I can't wait around forever wondering if they are.

If I allow him to get by without notifying me, then the other people I have eliminated for the same reasons can say "Well I told so and so I was going to be gone. Why did you eliminate me?". The end result is we all end up waiting on every person that goes missing and the tourney ends up taking 6 years to complete. At the beginign of this thing I opened it up to anyone that wanted to compete. I could have limited it jsut to people I was familier with and knew were reliable, but I wanted it to be a true open tournament. But to do that I have to insist that people live up to certain minimum responsibilities. Primary among those is that if they are going to be gone for an extended period of time, they have to tell me about it. It courtesy to me, and to everyone else in the tournament.
