okay. i am working on a mod, and am designing it such that all armor is oversized and thus requires a hull size specific armor mount to fit on a ship. so i have a bunch of mounts that will fit on any piece of armor. for the required weapon type, it will work if i sellect ANY or NONE. I have selected ANY, for the reason below:

I am trying to make Reactive armor that has built in point defense, with a 30 reload rate. the reactive armor has a weapon type of Point-Defense, or it wont work in combat.

The problem is that armor mounts of the ANY type dont apply to the reactive armor (or any point defense weapons). If i set the mount type to Point-Defense, it works. and of course, the NONE weapon type on the mount does not work.

I dont want to create a seperate set of 9 mounts just for one type of armor, that would suck. is this a bug? am i doing something wrong? is there a way to get a mount to apply to components with both the "none" weapon type and also the "point-defense" weapon type? The weapon type field on the mount will not accept a comma seperated list, or my problems would be over.

Is this just me doing something wrong? Is this going to be fixed in the patch? if not, can one of the beta testers put in a word about it?

Did you add the Point Defense ability to the armor? Not just weapon type, but the actual ability?

Does "Any" work with both weapons and non-weapons? If so, you should be fine, as long as all the armor component families are listed. If not, create the mounts with "None" and all comp. families except for reactive armor. Then copy-paste, changing "None" to "Point-Defense" and fixing the comp. family number.

A little OT, but what reload are you using for your reactive armor?

Yeah, the "Any" weapon type mount is busted in 1.78. It works exactly the same as "None". If you right click on a mount with "Any" it even shows up in the game as "None". Something in the code. I will have to dig out my latest beta patch and see if it's been fixed in that. I know we reported it, not sure if it's fixed. Wouldn't hurt if you reported it again though. To make sure it get's corrected.

Dragging you all OT for a minute...

Speaking of beta patches, now that Richard is in the back seat, who is going to leak those delicious beta-history updates? What is the latest beta Version?

Ok, I checked Version 1.82 (The latest beta patch) and the "any" type is still busted. What we actually need is a type that will allow any type of component period, which you can then restrict by family. As it is now when the any type is fixed you still wont be able to have a mount that can work for weapons and non weapons.
