Played as the Phongs, and set 500 turns as the only victory condition. I had just crushed my biggest rival, the Amien Krie (sp?), and was beginning an invasion of my next biggest rival when the game ended. I made a lot of mistakes, but really understand the game mechanics now. Thanks for all the help, I learned a lot on this board.

i remember when i finsihed my first game as the eee, i was playing on the demo Version of space empires iv, after 70 turns everyone else was extinct mainly becuase i had no concept of role playing and glassed every planet i came across http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ahh the memories

I don't recall ever finishing a game when I didn't set any conditions. I only recall setting conditions once and decided to keep all future games open ended in order to conquer the entire galaxy. Haven't made it yet, but continue to try!

I let the computer choose the opponents my first game. I didn't even realize what "neutral race" meant. I just started a new game as the Sallega, and have handpicked all the races and none of them are neutral. Should make it more interesting this time. Oh no, I'm already playing another game...I guess that means I'm becoming addicted!

You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into -- I HATE programming and I have even started doing a little modding and now I am tinkering with making a shipset!
