I'm pretty sure I uploade a current turn in Newbie Gold Last turn, but hey I know I can be wrong.
Anyway, all orders are changed. I can live with that.
But I can't reply to Messages sent to me, I can't view gifts.
I get the reply "Message already sent" when I try to send a message.
It doesn't matter if I reuppack the turn and reload!
And I have never replied to any Messages this turn!

What to do?

Ah well, that's just the fog of war, sometimes a commader just doesn't know what the ship's captains are doing.

Just kidding, I don't really know what happened.

Oh I got your reply to my diplomacy message, and rest assured my vengence for your curt snub will be swift and severe.

Just kidding ... maybe ...

[EDIT]

Whoo hoo ... I got my commision! And on a fluff post too. Wait, wadda ya mean I have to pay for my uniform, I always got it free before?!

I've seen something like that in a recent game.
IIRC it goes like that:

Turn 1: Player B offers me a gift
Turn 2: I see the gift and attepmt to accept it.
But I fail to upload the correct file, so AI plays in my turn. AI for some reason decides to refuse the gift.
Turn 3: Player B recives the refusal message.
I can see the message ofering the gift again (that's nice in case I had actually missed the turn), but I can't reply it or even send another message because there is "message sent" in the politics window.

I have occured the same problem. AI did my turn though I'm sure I uploaded my turn file.

I decided to turn off the AI so it can't cancel my treaties and change ship orders. You can turn AI off from Empire Status/Ministers/AI should not make... which is at the bottom of the window.

I also thought I had uploaded my turn, but since none of the things I tried to make that turn was made, my conclusion was that I must had uploaded a wron (older) turn file.

If you have your ministers on it is a completely diferent problem; the politics minister answers Messages before you play.

When I check the History page on the PBW site for the game, it says I've uploaded!

Well, some things one isn't meant to know, I guess.

I suggest deleting your .PLR file once you've uploaded, and checked PBW has changed your status.

That way, you can't upload a wrong turn # by accident. You might still mess up the downloading, and PLAY the wrong turn, but you're likely to notice some Deja Vu, and realize the problem. Theres also the chance of uploading a turn from the wrong game, but the file names are usually pretty distinct; just double check before you press submit.

Yes, but this still doesn't explain why I can't reply to Messages.

If an answer has already been given, you cannot send another.

Nah, I can't belive that!
This is a new turn sent out by the PBW server.
No orders are given by any AI BEFORE the turns are sent out.
The AI plays when the server runs the turns IF there hasn't arrived any valid turnfile.

1. No valid turn when turn processes-
AI plays-
Execute turns!
2. Send out turnfiles.
3 go to one.

Right?

Not:
1. No valid turn when turns processes-
AI plays.
Execute turns
AI plays
2. Send out turns.
3 Go to one.

I cannot explain the dynamics of it, I can only say that if you look at the Empires screen, you will see that a reply has already been sent to any message that came in on that turn and the AI is the one who sent it.

Well, it's the best explaination yet. So I'd better belive it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

I believe this is a bug, maybe it's good that you cannot accept a gift a turn after, since a long time cuold have changed things, but you should defeinetely be able to send a new message.

Secuential multiplayer included the date in the filename to avoid confusing files. why don't simultaneous do the same?
