Go check your Jraener Battleship Portrait. You will see that it is 128x129 pixels instead of the 128x128 that it should be. I sent an email to MM about this a few minutes ago, so there is no need to send more of the same. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

That be old news friend. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif I think someone else reported a while back. Around the time GOLD was released. But never the less, good catch. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

How did you discover it?

Was talking to Ritz on #se4 on gamesnet IRC channel, and he mentioned it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif MM replied and said it will be fixed for the next patch. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

What effect does this have, if any?

I'm rendering at high resolution, then I crop and resize. It's not easy to get exactly 128 x 128. How far off can I be and not screw-up SE4?<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would stick to the exact resolution if I were you, or else you'll end up with an ugly presentation...

Cheers !

I just started making a shipset. I'm using POV-Ray because I have no drawing skill at all.

It produces better results.

I sometimes do what Arkcon says. But usually copy and paste the resized image into a blank 128x128 picture so there're no pic size problems.

Just hack off a few pixels with MS Paint. The ship shouldn't generally be taking up the entire picture anyways. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

A pixel or two oversized is less noticable than undersized. Undersized will give a white stripe along the short edge(s) when SE IV tries to display the image.

It makes the Dreadnaught stronger. It is sorta like the 11 on the amps in Spinal Tap.
