Being that Combat Movement is /2 of Strategic Movement, has anyone ever figured out a way to change this?
For example, have a ship with a strategic movement of 12 and a combat movement of 2?
I've tried everything I can think of with no luck.
Any ideas would be very helpful.

afterburners have a combat movement ability, can you give engines with a high speed negative combat movement?

I've tried giving negative "Combat Movement" to components but it does not seems to work.

Can't be done as it stands..SE4 has certain hardcoded limits. This is one.

You can use emergency propulsion, which I think only works at the system level.

We were just discussing this in the SWII Mod thread. You can use emergency propulsion to increase noncombat movement and afterburners to increase combat movement.
Unfortunately, emergency propulsion does not seem to work within fleets.

That, and having to use Emergency Propulsion when you have 100s of ships is a major pain.
They only thing you can do that is not a huge pain is to have slow strategic movement and fast combat movement through the Combat Movement ability. Hopefully this becomes moddable in SE5 (that, or we get Strategic Move Points completely separated from Combat Move Points).
