View Full Version : "Your growth is astonishing!"

Ever have silly statements from AI allies like that, when it was so opposite from the truth it was hillarious?
I'm playing a P&N game where after some mild successes taking a couple enemy colony ships and frigates, I was forced to run my ships back to home and scrap down to just one ship, because my resources somehow went from overall positive to negative, and minerals were running out from maintenance on 2 frigates (even though I had 10% trade with an ally).
So just after I scrap everything but one supply ship, my allies say, "Your Growth is Astonishing", lol. (I have 2 planets, my homeworld and one colonized using a captured colony ship)
Anyone else have really funny lines from the AI like that?

mineral planets are the best, said by an organic race. that made me to make it "organic planets are the best" for my Taera race.

How about "Mineral planets are the best." in a P&N game? Ships tend to cost a lot more rads than mins in P&N. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

One of my Favorites is what the Space Vikings say about planets!

Varelen, just a tip, if you can, do not scrap those ships rather mothball them. I saw this tip somewhere here around the forum and eversince, i always produce more ships than i need. I mothball those and they are my reserver troops in case my fleet gets hit hard.

I think I will make my race every now and then say: "Hey, how ya doin?" That sounds more reasonable.

Is there a way to design in how often the AI will generate a random message?

One way to make a message be sent more is to input it more often in the .txt file.

Yep, 'General' Messages are just that, random junk. So I've just modded the Messages to be irrelevant to the game situation. "Beware of Geeks bearing .GIFs!" and "Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity." and things like that...

For your proportions mod, I think the most applicable standard message is this one:
"Not every ruin contains valuable objects", or similar, I do not recall correctly.

What General Message should my Matriarchal race send?
How about my Tessallates?

I also had a lot of fun re-doing all the Xi'Chung speech, although it takes a long time because there are SO many things an AI can say, theoretically anyway.

Do you think I can get away with
Declaring War: "I have PMS and a Cruiser, Any Quesitons?"
Edit: I'm trying to improve my spilling.
