I just installed ver 3.2 of the mod pak, but can't get a game to run using it. Everytime I try to start to start a game, I get this message: Unknown value "Ships/sat"for Weapon Target in record Änti-Sip warhead I"

And the only option available from the main screen is "Credits" or "Quit"

What's wrong??

Greg.

Which Version of game do you have? Sounds like Gold TDM modpak being installed in pre-gold SEIV...

I concur with pathfinder, that's what it sounds like.

Really sounds like you used the new TDM-ModPack with pre-Gold SE4. For the pre-Gold TDM look here:

Nope, I'm using SEIV Gold with the 1.78 patch.

The TDM Version supplied on my cd worked fine - its when I installed the new ver that the problem started.

I just re-checked the Version you can download. There is no error in the Pack itself so we have to search elsewhere. You do have the TDM-Line in your Path.txt? Or are you using the "SE4 Launcher.exe"? When you load SE4, does the intro screen display a line in the top right "using TDM-ModPack"?

Did you use the TDM "full" installer or the "patch" installer?

Okay, in my seivgold dir I have "path.txt" which contains: using mod directory none. It also contains a "modinfo.txt"with blank fields.

In my TDM dir, there is a ModPack Path.txt which contains: using mod directory TDM-ModPack.

As to whether I used the full or patch install, I think it was the full. I deleted to older ver before the new install.

The game doesn't use the Path.txt file that is in the TDM folder. That file is there so that you can overwrite the Path.txt in the SE4 folder instead of having to edit it manually.

But, if you use Matryx's Mod Launcher, you don't have to worry about Path.txt. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I'm also having trouble with this. Version 1.78, using the mod pack that's on the Gold cd. It's not finding it, whether path.txt is set to TDM-ModPack or TDM-ModPack_Gold. Original game loads instead. TDM-ModPack_Gold directory is directly under the main SE4 directory. Help, please.

Try getting the latest Version of the TDM mod.

I ran the mod launcher, and TDM is listed on the left. I select it, start SE4, and the original game pops up. When I look in path.txt, I see TDM-ModPack_Gold, so I know the path is being set. Again, I'm on 1.78, and I'm using the TDM on the cd. I haven't downloaded the newest Version yet. In the meantime, I've just copied the new empires I like over to the main directories, so I can use them now. I've added some races from some of the other mods, too.

I got it working after I installed the patch. It apparently didn't work because in the older Version, the TDM directory was nested inside the TDM*_Gold directory, so I got rid of the parent directory, and it worked.

Glad it worked out for you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Well, I ended up uninstalling both SEIV and the modpack then reinstaling both - everything is running peachy keen now ( though I still dont know what caused the original problem)

Thanks to everybody for their prompt assistance (this is one REALLY active forum! )
