For my fantasy-based mod, I'm going to need lots of new art. Alas, my art skills rival that of a howler-monkey, so I was planning on relying on google to find the bulk of my art needs. Then it struck me that I could pretty much get all the pictures I would need from Magic: The Gathering, since they have digital Versions of all their cards Online. Then I was struck again, thinking that perhaps that would be wrong, immoral, illegal, or worse!

Anyone know what the deal is with using copyrighted art for mods?

Anyone know of another web-based fantasy art resource?

Thanks!

I don't think they can do anything as long as you don't sell the mod, and you give proper credit (including all the pertinent copyright information).
