Wanted: AI modder. Apply within.

OK, so I'm developping a brand spanky new shipset (http://www.sandman43.fsnet.co.uk/KanesS.htm), but as you all know I'm not an AI modder and I wondered if there's anyone out there looking for a new project. It could be an established modder or someone trying out their first AI. I don't mind, but I reserve the right to give preference to ppl I've worked with before.

Anyway, it's a race of serpentine scavengers. (http://www.sandman43.fsnet.co.uk/KanesS.htm). The speech & general files are already done and available on the site. Having a rage-beater AI isn't my number one priority: I just want them to be hungry, sneaky and a little bit different. I don't mind if you choose an unproven strategy (ie not PPB and engine depleters) in favour of something original.

A warning: I'm notoriously slow and unreliable when it comes to developping shipsets (just ask Rollo- he's still waiting for me to finish the Viking images=-) so be prepared the possibility of having your AI flying around in a not-quite-finished shipset for a while.

That said, this time I'm using Doga 3 (which gets results quicker than pixel-pushing), and I already have most of the ships modelled.

If I had some expierience modding AIs I would be more then happy to help you out. But I feel until I get some play time in with the AI files for myself for awhile then I would not do a great job.

But I also want to say that I love the ship set so far. Very original. And they are definately a organic race by the looks of it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

You think organic? Interesting. What does anyone else think. Rags: Lack of AI experience is not a problem as far as I'm concerned.

Jus ta question about modding the AI from someone who doesn't know anything about it. What does it involve? Is it just the AI text files or is there more to it?

by game of words, those serpents can be temporal manipulators (you know, the snake biting its tail, time circle etc)

Dogscoff: no promises (still working out kinks in B5 MOD) but I could give a hand with the 2 files I somewhat under stand (AI_designcreation and AI_research). Need to know if this is Gold or Pre-Gold Version.

Ships look a little too dark though, but it may be due to the light background.
