View Full Version : Why don't my people love me?

OK, in my first PBW game ever, things are going ok.

One problem though...

Everyone is very unhappy. Pretty much all of my planets are at 0% growth, and Unhappy.

I haven't fought any wars yet. No ships lost. I've built UPC in my systems. Yet still, no happy, breeding people.

Suggestions?

If your happiness type is Bloodthirsty, the people are angry because you have fought no battles and had no victories. If you are Neutral, your people are unhappy because you signed treaties above NA, or they are unhappy because you took Neutral. If you took Peaceful, something else is the cuplrit. Did you take a penalty to your happiness trait?

Sorry, never claimed to be a comedian. Yes, my spelling mistake was intentional. I guess I'll go back to lurking again. Thanks for the condencending approach - it works well....

First: Solops has the key to happyness all sorted out. cheers.

Second: I thought it was a pun on the Marshall Laws of Derived Demand, a fundamental principal of economics that any highschool kid should know. SERIOUSLY though, it was obviously a rib on the troops that keep people happy. Marhall, as in the title, who's name is "Law." it was funny. especially the follow up about him not even being able to keep his wife happy.

Third: If the goal is to get the population to breed and be happy, achieving the goal by building troops is possibly the most disturbing thing that I have ever heard. ever. I can just see this main battle tank with its barrel sticking in some poor sod's bedroom window, and the TC on the bullhorn..

Lastly, the easiest, cheapest, not good for anything else, method of making your planets happy: build small troops with a cockpit, and no other components. build lots fast, and people get really happy.
