There has been some serious trolling around here lately. I hope the admins take notice and take action. The best way to get rid of a troll is to not respond.

I agree. This usually mild-mannered community has been a bit edgy lately. Maybe we need more sunlight? Fiber? Prune juice, anyone?

First this is my opinion. Second I said he is a political troll. I don't accuse him of being totally trollish but in this thread: [OT] Humankind is sick and tired of being used as an alibi by its murderers. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=008285) I believe he is trolling. I have read his first post and few of his replies. Even the title is obviously inflammatory.
RECOGNIZING FLAME BAIT:
If it sounds too stupid to be real, its probably flame bait.
If it sounds like something meant to make people respond in droves, its probably flame bait.
If it sounds like the person is too clueless to ever GET IT, they probably are or they are just tossing out those flamebait gum drops. Either way, it wastes time responding... you know... pearls before swine? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">These are the reasons for my opinion. Judge for yourself. The Last political flame fest was very similar I don't see why we need to do it all again.

First of all, I think the term "Resident Troll" is an oxymoron. Doesn't part of the definition of a troll entail the person not being a regular poster on the forum?
Andres is not a troll. Andres is a regular poster and contributor to the Shrapnel forums, the creator of several incredible SE4 shipsets, the administrator of one of the best SE4 websites, a valued member of the Se4 community, and an all-around great guy. That other thread is just a topic he feels very strongly about. Sometimes emotions cause people not to use their better judgement.
That's why we have Moderators. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Andres has created alot of great work, and brought alot to the community. every so often, one of the forum members brings up a political topic. usually, it is discussed with far more civility than you will find elsewhere on the internet.
it took some effort for some of us to drag this inflamitory anti-troll thread around to a discussion about green-creatures. please dont drag us into politics.

I think trolls can be regular posters on a forum...but given the nature of most forum admins, trolls are usually Banned before becoming a regular http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Resident Troll is only an oxymoron when talking about civil forums. Some forums are littered with resident trolls, especially those forums that hate newbies.

I witnessed and even posted in the Last Iraqi War debate. It became obvious to me that whatever your feelings on the matter; nothing that was said would change the minds of anyone who had an opinion on the matter.
I would like to say that I have no problems with Andrés Lescano. It is just I am just getting a little frustrated with these political flame fests no matter how civil.
(Now that I think about it.. It was the title that goaded me into posting my frustrations in this topic. I guess I am just sick of it. )

Yeah, the Big Ram that was built in the foundries of Barad-Dum was manned by Mountain Trolls, but that happened after the Dawnless Day, when Sauron make his Darkness fall on Gondor.
