I am trying to make a seeker-based Version of the Alliegence Subverter weapon (kind of like the Beast's missles in Homeworld: Cataclysm), but when I try them out, I end up destroying the opponent's ships rather than capturing them.
I used the CSM as a "blueprint" and changed the type from Direct Fire to Crew ConVersion (and changed the pic, family/weapon numbers, and req's so the AI wouldn't freak). Is there somewhere that I porbably messed up?

I'd say that in theory, the type should be "seeker", not "direct fire". You want to change "standard" damage type to "crew conVersion," but I think it may just not be possible - not sure. You could also try ship capture.
I think others have tried these sorts of things before, so someone else can probably tell you whether they've had any success or not. I do remember people saying that fighters set up to deliver boarding parties did not work.

urk... what I meant to say that I changed the Damage Type from Normal to Crew ConVersion.
Thx for the information, tho.

I don't think its possible to have AS seekers (I may be wrong). I do know that you can have AS drones though. Perhaps that would be a doable compromise?
BTW, does crew conVersion work as the damage type of a warhead? Could be useful for one-shot AS drones.

I don't know about AS drone warheads, but I'll give it a try.

You can put subverters ON a drone as a direct fire weapon, but all ramming damage AFAIK does normal.
I tried making warheads do quad-to-shields once, but it didn't help.
