They visibly deal with SE IV, the speak about known shipsets/races, but they're more like RPG sites, giving backgrounds, details on empires, alliances, war events...
Is there a SE IV rpg available somewhere ? or is it some kind of universe players have developed throught their PBW games ?
There is no FAQ on this sites, so if you could explain to someone very stupid what's all this, it would be nice.

They are all in reference to the SEIV rpg community Legacies. You can find a link to it in my signiture. New members are ALWAYS welcome ^_^

Actually, the DIR site has nothing to do with legacies. It was an empire on the Universe Ladder.

And would it be too much to ask you, High Ruler of the World, what "Universe Ladder" stand for ?

I think "evil ruler of the world" would be more approprite with my current avatar...
The Space Empires Universe Ladder is an old RP community (the first Space Empires one that had any sort of rational foundations, in fact) that is currently undergoing rennovations.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">yeah, but what is it? I've never fully understood it myself. How do these things work?Presumably they span multiple games of SE4, but how are those games tied together? How do you maintain a consistent RP when you start with a different (and empty) map every time you play?

Is there any site for it anywhere? The link on Malfador's site is dead.

Wasn't Thermodyne involved in the SE4 Universe Ladder? I thought he said something about it but I might be mistaken...

And the way the site is coded, itis susceptible to various cheats that were exploited during the Last active cycle. Until an ASP code writer shows interest, I don't see it restarting any time soon.

I brought the Ladder Online, you can take a look at it by going to http://68.48.82.138
And the forum is located at http://pub1.ezboard.com/bhypercommcentral

That seems to be an older Version that still links to the old forum at se.org. Don't bother clicking on the Hypercomm Central link on the SE ladder page, cause it goes nowhere. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I read the rules and stuff, but the whole thing doesn't make sense. Is this a new game based in Space Empires or is a totally different game?

I want to join an active community. The SE Ladder just isn't that. Maybe when it's upgraded I'll look into it.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">To see the forum, you should check the link that Thermo wrote, because the link into the Ladder webpage looks that was not updated.

I dunno. Maybe when other people join or someone answers my questions I'll think about joining.
